Starting pay is $18.00-$25.00 an hour depending on experience!
Position Summary
Fortune Fish & Gourmet is seeking a Delivery Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely delivering and unloading a variety of perishable products, including seafood, beef, poultry, and gourmet items, while maintaining the highest levels of customer service. This role requires strict adherence to safety standards and compliance with HACCP and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations to ensure the quality and integrity of our products.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct pre-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and delivery information.
Drive assigned routes to deliver customer orders while ensuring secure loading and unloading of products.
Handle perishable items with care, ensuring temperature-controlled vehicles maintain required limits.
Engage with customers professionally, verifying deliveries and obtaining proper signatures.
Record and process payments (cash, checks, etc.) from customers securely.
Report any issues or customer feedback to management promptly.
Unload and document damaged products or customer returns at the end of the route.
Assist in maintaining vehicle records and support Fleet Manager with scheduled maintenance.
Stay compliant with all company safety training and procedures.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
1-2 years of commercial driving experience.
Experience transporting temperature-controlled products preferred.
Licensing: Valid Texas state driver's license; must pass a Medical Examiner's Certification.
Skills and Attributes:
Friendly, outgoing, and courteous demeanor.
Strong work ethic with a sense of urgency in meeting deadlines.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Availability: Must be able to work long shifts and Saturdays.
Language: Basic English-speaking proficiency.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, walking, and driving.
Regularly lift up to 80 pounds; occasional lifting of items exceeding 80 pounds may be required.
Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
Visual attention for limited-light scenarios and detailed inspection.
